LOONEY TUNES / PORKY PIG PERSONALITY POSTER (ca. 1948)

 Sold Out
Vintage original 24 x 24" (60x 60 cm.) window card-type poster, USA. Warner Brothers studios, creators of the characters in the Looney Tunes animation division, seemingly never made individual personality posters of their famous stars. So, a local theatre chain created this vibrant, nearly day-glo print to advertise their featured star characters.

Porky was the first animated character the studio created to draw an audience on his star power. He was created by Friz Freling and made his debut in 1935 with I Haven't Got a Hat. Voiced by many personalities between 1935-2004, he hit his stride during the 1948 period when voiced by Mel Blanc having gone through a period of transformation in the late-1930s.

During this period he appeared in the short Kitty Kornered, with co-star Sylvester the Cat. Poster was not displayed and has just a bit of creasing near the top left corner and some minor border tanning, ABOUT FINE.
